Having worked in the Financial services industry since 1978, Ray brings a very diverse background and experience for the benefit of clients. Since he is a qualified Accountant (CMA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), he has the unique ability to integrate all aspects of a client’s tax and financial issues and offer solutions which help clients to simplify their lives and achieve their financial goals and objectives. Ray joined IPC in 1996 and since then, has gradually build up a successful practice. His clients range from small ones doing $100 monthly investment plans to wealthy clients who work with Ray in managing funds over a million dollars. His basic philosophy of being honest about everything with his clients and putting the clients first, results in client relationships which last many years! Ray believes in protecting the capital invested and aims for a reasonably good growth with safety in mind at all times. Minimizing the taxes on investments is critical in building a bigger asset base and keeps the taxman (CCRA) away. Educating the client, keeping them informed about their funds, new developments, is important and is an ongoing activity. Reviews with clients are done regularly. All clients must have a minimum one review per year, preferably every six months, with frequent reviews for clients with large holdings. Continuous learning is paramount in today’s business life. Ray spends a third of his time in continuous education by way of seminars, workshops, Conferences and reading all kinds of material on Financial/Estate Planning and Income taxes. Ray is a graduate (1977) of the University of Aston, Birmingham, England with an honors degree in Administrative Science. After completing the tough courses over the years, in 1986, he earned his CMA designation (Certified Management Accountant) and after completing more studies, he earned his CFP® designation (Certified Financial Planner) in 1998. Ray volunteered on the Board of Governors at the CMA Ontario for the three years 1999 – 2002. He also volunteered at the CMA Scarborough Chapter Board for five years and was their Chairman in the 1991-1992 year. Ray is currently a Board Member with a charity associated with the Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. This charity – Pediatric Glaucoma and Cataract Family Association (PGCFA) provides support to children who are affected by pediatric glaucoma, cataract and other vision issues. Donating time, helping groups and associations is a great way of serving your community! Not only do the Groups benefit, but we individually get a great boost on personal growth. Ray is also a past-chairman of the Parent/Teacher Group at a Montessori School in Scarborough. He also appeared on the “MoneySense” program on Global TV and CBC Newsworld.
